a beginner's tale

I guess that in the first blog the writer is supposed to engage the reader about how they have some kind of deep need inside of them to tell the world all their thoughts and opinions.
I'm writing this blog because the Lord told me to. No, He did not come in a booming voice from the sky, He did not throw down a lighting bolt in the shape of a keyboard, nor did He spell out B-L-O-G in my alphabet soup. I just knew that he wanted me to start posting my writings out on a much more public forum then my own personal journals that I never share with anyone. You can see that this is a big step in obedience for me.
I've really had this feeling about how I need to start this blog for months, and was using the excuse that I didn't have a name that was catchy or eye provoking to keep me from actually starting it. A couple of nights ago some friends and I were throwing some names around and one of them said "Kellie's Couch". I defiantly didn't want my name in it, it would feel to self-absorbed then, and I'm already self absorbed enough as it is, but I did like the sound of "the couch". I can't really tell you why, but I was so sick of trying to think up a name that I knew that I should just take "the couch" and run with it. It's quirky, and I guess that best represents me.
What I would want most out of this blog is for it to grow. That the Lord takes it in the exact direction that He would want it to go. I pray that when I sit down to type these words, that someone will see them. That they will take a second look, maybe a twenty second look, and the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for us, and put past misconceptions about Christianity behind them.
